PETA THEATER
PETA was established in 1967, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is an organization of creative and critical artist-teacher-cultural workers committed.The main idea of its foundation is the use of theater is to surely Filipino as a piece for social change and development. The organization lived with this idea or principle as the time goes by.
The vision of a surely Filipino theater, PETA first took residence in Dulaang Rajah Sulayman, a T-stage theater at the Fort Santiago in Intramuros, Manila. Also,PETA developed its own history because of these historical walls. It was also in this beautiful open-air performance space that PETA's dream began to design. The well-defined stage of Rajah Sulayman influenced the diversity of performances that the company produced, prompting the artists to explore possibilities that the unique architecture the theater had to offer. In this cultural landmark, PETA began to nurture and develop the hundreds of artists who, up to this day, continuously share their talents and expertise in theater, television, radio, print media and education.
Through the years, PETA continuous to develop its talent of cultural leaders as it goes up in the top of Philippine culture. PETA has written, translated, adapted, published, and performed more than 300 plays and has facilitated thousands of workshops both locally and internationally, shaping not only its own history but also, more on influencing the history of Philippine theater. Theater forms and techniques continue to be established as local, national and universal themes find its medium of expression in the company's engagement as a theater group that performs and educate other people.

What is PETA today?

KALINANGAN ENSEMBLE is now the Peta theater's pride or performing arm. They take advantage of today's season. KALINGAN ENSEMBLE offers in Manila and different provinces a mobile shows for school and communities. the Peta's SCHOOL OF PEOPLE'S THEATER offers the courses on theater arts and applied theater. The PETA METROPOLITAN TEEN THEATER LEAGUE PROGRAM and the CHILDREN'S THEATER PROGRAM give special attention to the issue of childcare's right and youth participation. it is facilitated or under their adult caregivers and educators. PETA can share its specialization in theater and education through spreading their educator's talent with national and international artistic, educational, cultural, and development organizations. PETA is all about outreach and networking.
Last 2005, PETA moved to it's new place. Which is the PETA THEATER CENTER. They continue to encourage and trained other people specially the youths to be more artistic and interesting in art. Not only in acting but to develop their other skills that might put them in popularity.
